Lagoon 42 TPI
First introduced in 1991, the Lagoon 42 is a boat built with the style and layout quality that accelerated the popularity of the cruising catamaran in the United States. The Lagoon 42's were built by Jeanneau TPI techniques avancees in the USA with their state-of-the-art resin infusion process and designed by the innovative French naval architects Marc Van Peteghem and Vincent Lauriot Prevost. The optimized hull construction uses balsa and vinyl ester resin which saves weight and improves performance and sea-keeping.
The high standard of construction is the reason these yachts keep their value very well, so this is your chance! Only 51 of them were built, it was just too expensive to do a real mass production.
I should know, I owned a sistership myself and very regularly sail it on the open ocean! The underside of the central part is higher above the water than modern catamarans, so much less slamming when the sea is rough.
This particular boat has been in crewed charter business from about 1993 till 1999. Present owner finished a circumnavigation in 2016, came back to the Caribbean and used her lightly for holidays here. She has been at her hurricane mooring for a while now, and will need some cleaning and new bottom paint.
NEW fully refurbished Yanmar 3yh5e were installed March 23rd 2019. Brand new solar panels and controller.
All other equipment works or is serviceable, all rigging has been replaced in the past 9 years. See fact sheet for details.
One small issue, no need to repair (when it works don't fix it) but cosmetic are the saloon windows. They are crazed and one of them has a crack.
